There is nothing quite like lounging on the beach, listening to the waves, basking in the sunshine with a hot new read in your hands. This summer was no exception! Here are the 5 best beach reads of Summer 2025!
- One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune:
Release Date: May 6, 2025
Romance Fiction
My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5/5
Good things happen at the lake. That’s what Alice’s grandmother says, and it’s true. Alice spent just one summer there at a cottage with Nan when she was seventeen—it’s where she took that photo, the one of three grinning teenagers in a yellow speedboat, the image that changed her life.
This book is one of those books that make your heart happy for months, maybe even, years to come.
2. Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry
Release Date: April 22, 2025
Romance Fiction
Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5/5
Alice Scott is an eternal optimist still dreaming of her big writing break. Hayden Anderson is a Pulitzer-prize winning human thundercloud. And they’re both on balmy Little Crescent Island for the same reason: To write the biography of a woman no one has seen in years–or at least to meet with the octogenarian who claims to be the Margaret Ives.
I LOVED this book and I love Emily Henry- but I feel like this book was a little different from her others. I feel that this book should have been catogorized as Fiction instead of Romance.
3. These Summer Storms by Sarah MacLean
Released: July 8, 2025
Romance Fiction
Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4/5
Alice isn’t like the other Storm siblings. While the rest stayed to battle for their parents’ approval, attention, and untold billions, she left, building her own life beyond the family’s name and influence. Nothing could induce her to come back, except the shocking death of her larger-than-life father. Now back on the family’s private island off the Rhode Island coast, she plans to keep her head down, pay the last of her respects, and leave the minute the funeral is over.
I really enjoyed this book and the main character Alice. However, the other siblings were hard to love and the mother was dreadful!
4. The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau by Kristin Harmel
Release Date: June 17, 2025
Historical Fiction
Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❣️ 4.5/5
Colette Marceau has been stealing jewels for nearly as long as she can remember, following the centuries-old code of honor instilled in her by her mother, take only from the cruel and unkind, and give to those in need. Never was their family tradition more important than seven decades earlier, during the Second World War, when Annabel and Colette worked side by side in Paris to fund the French Resistance.
This book was so incredibly unexpected. I loved Colette and the unbreakable bond she had with her family even though she lost them at a young age. It’s no surprise that I am in complete and utter awe of every single story from WW11. This one had way more depth and beauty than I anticipated.
- Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Release Date: June 3, 2025
Historical Fiction
Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5/5
Joan Goodwin has been obsessed with the stars for as long as she can remember. Thoughtful and reserved, Joan is content with her life as a professor of physics and astronomy at Rice University and as aunt to her precocious niece, Frances. That is, until she comes across an advertisement seeking the first women scientists to join NASA’s Space Shuttle program. Suddenly, Joan burns to be one of the few people to go to space.
I LOVE Taylor Jenkins Reid and her writing style. So it is no surprise that I loved this book as well. However, this wasn’t my favorite of hers. I think I just had such a problem with Barbara and no one holding her accountable!
There you have it! 5 of the best beach reads for Summer 2025! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Keep Reading- Katie
